Hey there! I’m Florian, a machine learning engineer and founding member of General Intuition, where we build models that act in video games and beyond. Previously, I co-founded dreamlook.ai and worked on French language models and reinforcement learning for railway planning. I’m based in French-speaking Switzerland.
General Intuition (2025 - current) Founding member of General Intuition, the research lab dedicated to video games and beyond.
NyxAI (2022 - 2024) Co-founder of dreamlook.ai, which provided tooling to finetune text-to-image models faster and cheaper by using TPUs. We powered multiple applications featured in the iOS App Store charts, and took part in the training of some of the most popular open-source Stable Diffusion models (e.g. Juggernaut XL).
Cedille.ai (2021 - 2022)
We trained and deployed Cedille, the largest language model for French at the time (6B), released under MIT license. We used TPUs (v3-128) through Google’s TRC program. For a couple of months we were beating OpenAI’s best model (GPT-3 davinci) on French benchmarks!
AIcrowd (2019 - 2021) I was the lead researcher of the Flatland project. We investigated the use of Reinforcement Learning for railway planning, in partnership with the national railway companies from Switzerland, Germany and France (SBB, Deutsche Bahn, SNCF). As part of this project I co-organized the Flatland 2020 NeurIPS Challenge.
MSc Thesis at CERN (2014) I built a data visualization system for the ATLAS experiment. My tool was designed to ingest 1M+ events per second and summarize them in dashboards to be used by experts. The goal was to replace Splunk which was ridiculously expensive. It was my EPFL Master thesis and received maximal grade. Last I checked it was still in use at CERN.
